Deep on Tech: Gmail delays

Gmail delays

I have randomly been experiencing delays while receiving email on my gmail account. I have not received a single email in the last 5 days that arrived on time. The delays range from 4 hrs to 4 days. Gmail/Google seems to have no plausible explaination for me yet. I have tried contacting their support and have received a few automated responses asking me to read up their FAQ and online help.

Hey Google, this is email! I have implemented RFC 821 and 822 in the past. It is not very complicated.

Before I switched to gmail, I had a Hotmail account for 6 years and never ever did I have an issue such as this. Yeah well, the server would be down once in a while but never a problem that was not resolved in a couple of hours.

I am personally a big Google evangelist and a M$ hater. However if Google cannot fix this in the next day or two, GOOG stock is going to take a big beating as far as I am concerned.

Hello and blogger

Update: 11/28/2005
----------------------------------------------------
Google did fix this! Now one can post to blogger directly from picasa!!!
-----------------------------------------------------

Is it just me or does anyone find posting pictures using Hello and bloggerbot slightly goofy?

I find it quite odd that google chose something like Hello which happens to be an IM client used for sharing photos as a blogging client.

I have never used any other blogging software but I would expect a better way to upload pictures to a blog. The fact that I can only have 1 picture per post amazes me!! I guess I must be the only blogger who requires to post more than 1 picture post.

Blogger's online editor allows more than 1 picture per post. Why can't they fix Hello to do the same? Granted Hello was an IM software and was retrofitted to use with BloggerBot. But hey, c'mon google fix this!!
